Welcome - A message from the Head teacher

Living, Growing, Loving, Learning

Welcome

Thank you for showing an interest in our school and all that takes place here.

I am honoured to introduce myself as the Head teacher at Piddle Valley CE First School. I have been with the school since September 2014. I have taught in Dorset for over 28 years now, having taught in Dorchester and Weymouth for most of that time.

I feel very privileged to work with such wonderful staff, supportive parents and lovely, enthusiastic children. The children really are at the heart of everything we strive to achieve here at Piddle Valley CE  First School. Visitors comment on the warmth and happy ethos they experience when they come to visit. It really is a great place to work!

At Piddle Valley CE First School we continually strive to develop our provision for the children in our care, exploring ways that will stimulate and engage all our learners so they can reach their potential. We offer a broad curriculum developing key skills in literacy and maths as well as nurturing and promoting healthy minds and wellbeing through a range of creative and sporting activities.

Our core Christian values are embedded throughout school life, promoting a Christian community. We enjoy finding out about the world around us and are keen to develop links with outdoor learning and our 'Green Space' where the children can discover links with nature and the world.

We want the best for our children and give them opportunities and support so that they can be the best that they can.

Our much valued pre-school is incorporated into our school giving the younger children a secure and happy foundation. We offer free 30 hour child-care as well as hosting a popular breakfast and ‘After school club’ supporting all our families and the community.

If you would like to speak to me about anything relating to school, or your child, please don't hesitate to contact me via the School office.

Kind regards,

Mrs Jayne  Browne
