Spring 2022

Tree Planting along the Piddle Path

What a fantastic morning!

Today (Friday 25th March 2022) staff, pupils and parents from all classes walked part of the 2.5 miles 'Piddle Path'. It was a beautiful morning, clear blue skies and the sun was shining. Dressed in wellies and looking for muddy puddles, we set off on our walk.
Our aim this morning was to plant five new trees along the path. Each class voted for their favourite tree and were involved in digging the hole, planting the tree and watering it.
We would like to say a big thank you to Peter Knighton, Venetia and Maria for preparing the trees and helping to organise the event.

Celebrating World Book Day 2022

Wow! What a great day!
The day started with a fantastic whole school assembly with Mrs. V followed by a parade of amazing costumes depicting different book characters. We saw Harry Potter, Gangsta Granny, Matilda, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Mr. Stink and a couple of Where's Wally?
The children have enjoyed writing character profiles as well as creating their own story in the Preschool. It really has been wonderful to take time to enjoy sharing stories and reading books with each other.
Please enjoy sharing our photographs of the days events.
Our Library

We are proud that our school library is located at the heart of the school and is loved by everyone!
It has recently undergone a full refurbishment and is a cosy, inviting space!

All the children visit the library each week and borrow a book.
Please do show huge interest in their choice and spend time with your child sharing this book with them.

A focus on shared reading.
When we recently spoke with our pupils about what they enjoyed about reading and stories, they told us they really love having a story read to them by an adult so...
Each Friday a member of staff selects a story; a book which they would like to share with the children and we come together to share some special 'story time'.
